Origin of face yoga

Face yoga is believed to have originated from Japan. The person behind this incredible facial exercise is still not clear but experts give credit to Fumiko Takatsu for bringing face exercise into the limelight. Takatsu, 50 has written over six books on face yoga and has been practicing facial exercises for more than 15 years. One of the best-known books is The Ultimate Guide To The Face Yoga Method. She said she came up with the idea of face yoga after she was involved in a grisly car accident that made her face out of alignment when she was 35 years old.

Around the same time, she began to notice signs of aging. She tried using facial creams but gave up because they were very expensive with little results to show. After years of frustration, one day she discovered that she had muscles on her face and decided to exercise them. To her surprise, the technique worked and even help to align her distorted face. It also helps to reduce wrinkles and tightened her muscles, making her look younger and plumper. After benefiting from facial yoga, she decided to share this exercise and its incredible benefits to the world.

How does face yoga work?

Face yoga involves a series of facial exercises that work to strengthen and tone specific muscle groups in your face to widen your eyes, firm the jawline, and raises the cheeks. These exercises also increase circulation and blood flow to the skin, bringing more nutrients and oxygen to facial tissue, which makes the skin glow. Additionally, this facial exercise helps to release tension, which helps to minimize the appearance of stress lines.

Just like other muscle groups in your body, facial muscles also grow when you work on them. Face yoga works on specific muscles in your face, leading to muscle growth. This helps to add more definition to the cheeks and counteract the sliding and drooping of the skin and fat tissue in the face, making it look younger. Face yoga exercises are very effective because they are based on the same principles as resistance training.

Facial yoga can help slow the progression of aging by helping you avoid specific poses that contribute to deeper tension, fine line, and wrinkles.

Face yoga is a form of exercise, and it helps to tone and tighten specific facial muscles. Cancel the appointment for your dermal fillers or botox, try face yoga first

There are many options available, including using Botox, filler, and face yoga, when it comes to enhancing the overall look of the face. Many people usually rush to cosmetic options such as fillers and Botox because they give results almost immediately. However, this usually comes at a cost. A vast majority of people who choose this option often end up regretting later because of the nasty side effects and short term results that they give.

We recommend face yoga because it is very effective and gives long-term results. Face yoga involves performing a natural facial exercise, meaning that you don’t have to worry about suffering from side effects as is the case with filler and Botox. Facial yoga is 100% natural and without harmful chemicals. With face yoga, there are no needles and no second-guessing whether the process is worth the toxins and side effects or not. Unlike Botox and filler that are very expressive, facial yoga costs nothing.

  • I signed up with Fumiko a couple of years ago but must admit I don’t always keep doing the exercises! Thanks so much for this reminder. The great thing about face yoga is that you can’t say you don’t have the time – every time you go to the loo you can practise this! Will research the best exercises for my issues and go for it!

I do weights at home and my body is transformed so there’s no reason I can’t do my face a favour and be consistent with face yoga. The exercises are very, very good.

    Best,

Hi Jean, thanks for your comment. I really like your idea to practice face yoga every time when you go for the loo. Once you will create a nice routine you will not even notice you are investing extra time into this practice. Happy New Year and all the best.

  • Cool, I surprised to read about your face yoga article. Mostly people exercise for body but they forgot to train face, because our face also have muscles like another part of body.

In this article you were very friendly and understand everything what you talk about such as how to do it or when you do etc. I learn lots things from your article about face yoga. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

  • Ola,

I’ve heard of facial exercises more and more lately. It’s actually an old technique, but most people don’t know it exists. I had never heard of face yoga to be exact, but facial exercises I had. When I was younger, I used to hate my jawline – well, I still hate my jawline – and my Mom used to tell me there were exercises I could do to lengthen it. I hadn’t done much of them over the years, as much as I hate my jaws, so you’d imagine I’d have done them everyday. But, like exercising at the gym, I didn’t keep up with it. To this day, I still don’t, though I should since I detest how short it is.

I’ll have to look into this face yoga though. Sounds like it works really well. Thanks for sharing this information with us!

Dear Katrina, thank you for your comment. That’s the only trouble with facial exercises and face yoga, if we don’t do it regularly we will never get any results. I will be very happy if you can share your results if you will manage to keep up with the daily yoga routine. Happy New Year!

  • Wow, I didn’t know that there is such a term as “face yoga” but I believe that it’s very beneficial for skin on our face.

If practicing it on a daily basis, just like you’ve mentioned, it has the potential to give some brilliant results.

Thank you for sharing, I have learned something new today!
